Max life blend or Max life full Synthetic?

With winter around the corner, Im trying to decide on what blend to use this winter. The vehicle is an 03 Blazer with 80K, is not gargaged, and is not my daily driver. That being said should I switch to Max life Full Synthetic for the winter months? I have a 5qt jug of MLBlend sitting in the basment, but was thinking of saving if for next summer and running Full Synthetic for winter. I have officially become an obbsesive-compulsive BITOG'er..

Well as I think you already know, either would work fine.
My weather is close to yours and I stick with the maxlife semi syn in my truck year round and it does fine, I do notice a little slower cranking on the really cold mornings though.
But if you are just wanting to experiment or just be extra cautious then why not? Try it and see what you think.

What grade? I checked the 5W20 ML blend last winter at -30C and it poured very well.

I used the Syn last winter on two cars. Partly because of the cold winters and partly because I wasn't changing the oil out while it was cold, and planned on 7-8k OCI.

I think I've read on here that the Syn is a bit thick for the grade 5w30, but I'm sure someone will post the accurate info.

I've used a lot of the MaxLife Semi-syn.... but I don't think I've ever seen any of the full synthetic.

I use MaxLife Semi syn in a 2000 Grand Am 2.4 liter 4 cylinder with 100k that sits out all of the time. Last winter, we made it to about 25 below zero, and no problems at all with 5w30.

Superbuick96. If you need to use a high mileage oil then
the Maxlife 5w30 Synthetic will be a good choice. I'm planning
on using it in my BMW soon because it meets the A3 BMW LL-01
specs. I like the -42 C pour point and Valvoline uses a mixture
of synthetic grp oil's.
