My cousin just paid $400 for some 15" CRV tires...Mastercraft. She's pretty much an idiot and like to purchase whatever the "experts" tell her.

That's about average over here.
 
Town-unFair tires preys on customers looking for cheap. Their tires are definitely high profit.
If you go in there knowing what you want, they twist your arm to buy something else. If you go there not knowing what you want, you get raped!

My last two visits to townfair ended up with them buying the tires at Tirerack for me. BFgoodrich Traction T/A H rated 440AA/A tires for a less than what you paid for Masterkrapht. The other set were Bridgestones Turanza.

I use Tire Rack almost exclusively. One of their recommended installers is located @15 miles away from my house; they charge $12/tire to mount, balance, and install a new valve stem. I spent less than $400 to buy and install a set of Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S 235/55-17 tires on my wife's X3.
