Has anyone tried the new mass air flow cleaner from CRC? Good, Bad, no comment?

I haven't compared the two yet, but I'd be willing to bet that it is very similar to their QD Electronic Cleaner, which also works great for cleaning the little heated wire in those sensors.
The MSDS for the CRC electronics cleaner and MAF cleaner show the same ingredients. To clean the it I just removed the MAF and sprayed it off. The cleaner dries quickly with no residue. I don't think you want to touch the sensor part of the MAF with anything but the spray.
I also found the MSDS for both products were the same and used the less expensive more readily available QD Cleaner...with great results! This was one of the best things Ive done for my car! This is a must do if you use a K&N style(oiled) filter!

The thin wire in the MAF is what needs to be cleaned. CRC is perfect for this. Just spray it on the wire. Do not wipe the wire with anything. Its delicate and can break. Just let it air dry.
Where can I buy either of these cleaners? Would Advance Auto or Radio Shack have this stuff?
I don't recall seeing the QD at Autozone, but I know that Pep Boys has it, that's where I get mine.
The sprays that are meant for cleaning MAFs are of course, safe, but other sauces may leave a residue. Spray a little on a mirror, let it dry, and see if it is perfectly clean.
Those that took chem lab in most collages know that acetone is great for rinsing.
Rinsing with acetone will displace water. And since it a excellent solvent take care of all residue. Oh acetone dries really quickly.
Acetone has lots of uses and it is CHEAP. Your local ACE or hardware store should have 100% pure acetone.

...and damages plastics
Last year I looked at 3 or 4 auto parts stores and none of them carried CRC. Neither, believe it or not, did Staples, and CRC is an electronics cleaner.

The procedure for cleaning the MAF is simple. Disconnect neg terminal of the battery. Disconnect the MAF connection and remove the MAF. Don't drop the screws! Carefully spray the MAF with the appropriate cleaner. I have used both the Electronics stuff from Advance and brake cleaner. In the future, I will not use the BC as the long term effects on plastic are unknown to me. Let it dry completely. Install is the reverse of removal.
Be very careful if you have a CAI or SR or anything with metal touching where the MAF is located. While reconnecting the battery, if you accidentially short the battery to anythng touching the MAF, you'll fry it.

I use CRC brake cleaner. No residue and dries quickly. I use a hairdryer to get it drying even faster to ensure it does not affect plastics (not that it should.) Unforunately CRC MAF cleaner is not available down here.
Btw some electrical contact cleaners also contain lubricants (ie leaves a film behind) so you have to be careful.

brake parts cleaner looks like the winner. what you are doind is cleaning any dirt/gunk/oil residue off of the thin wire/flat plate. brake parts cleaner does not harm plastic and leaves no residue. its cheap. we all have a can laying around somewhere.
my girlfriend started using it after i took lipstick out of one of her scarves in about .25 seeconds a few months ago. i had to buy her her own can.
