Many Fram filters on clearance at Walmart

People who work for Walmart told me several times what I already could tell from going into different ones in my area. The stores are all not run the same in many instances. I think it is controlled by the locations, the type of shoppers they know live there and even by the section managers. You can notice in some stores near me how they are so much better stocked and even sell a lot of products I can not find in the other store locations. Most of them do have one of two dedicated aisles for all sorts of mixed up items all on discount. Most of the time those aisle are around the auto and hardware sections out here.

"It's going to be hard to stock filters soon. So let's sell the ones we have for cheaper."

Strange logic there, Walmart.

I guess WM is concerned that Fram isn't going to pay for the shelf space, as others alluded to, and WM HATES when their vendors don't play ball by their rules.
Walmart does not like pot mark open/empty spaces on their shelves for too long. I can totally see them over night removing everything FRAM and doing a whole reset of the aisle and if they do not get another oil brand to replace it right away, they will rack and stack and shift something else into the aisle.

If I was to wager, I am betting Walmart is probably more pissed that it leaves their SuperTech filters in a lurch as that house brand directly reflects on them more than FRAM rolling up the carpet.

Yeah WM needs to have stock guaranteed for a long time in advance. They can't be scrambling to fill shelf space as Frams trickle out one-by-one

It also depends on which warehouse they get their stock from. I have two Walmarts in town at opposite ends of my town. Years ago one of the managers said they get their shipments from two different warehouses.

I’m wondering what’s going to happen to the Supertech filters? The vast majority of them are (were) made by Champ Labs, and with their demise, somebody will have to do it… Hoping for Premium Guard!

FRAM will be sold off and will continue on with another owner.

This is a Chapter 11 bakruptcy which means reorganization. Not dissolution which is Chapter 7.

The First Brands Group is already shopping FRAM around.

There will likely be plant closures, which may impact FRAM inventory, and a discontinuance of many products. But the FRAM brand still has a ton of familiarity and popularity with the general public.

That name isn't going anywhere, and with a less leveraged entity operating FRAM's products, the brand will be perfectly fine.
