Mann Oil Filters

Seems an AAP here sells a Mann ML1005, the exact fit for my truck.

Never used them, they are 50cents more than the Puro Classic at 4.59$ each

good filters? Ive seen some luck, few threads.

I put this on my sons Jetta 1.8t. It is huge, aboout 3/4 qt. It's sold as a Purolator L40316, but it is clearly a Mann filter.

I use them on my customer's cars sometimes. They seem to be all right for the price [50 pesos except for the ML2000 which costs 60 pesos] The ones we get here are made in USA. The parts guy used to carry Mann+Hummel filters made in China for 5 pesos less until I went on a made in China tirade, if he still stocks them he keeps them out of my sight. I do like their filters because they are clean straight out of the box. Nissan original and Gonher brand filters come out of the box dirty, black residue on the threads, paint flakes, grease residue, etc. I've been using Bosch Premium [3323] on my own car [79 pesos], but their quality doesn't seem any better from the outside, also made in USA.

I use them on a Toyota 4 cyl. Nothing to write home about but about as good as a Fram.

The Mann's I've checked out at AAP and majority Rock Auto made in the US(were white now black), look very much to be Purolator Classic clones, and in this specific case they may be just that. The ones I saw at AAP for my application were slightly less in cost than the equivalent Classic at AAP.

That said, with every Classic application now ~$3.27 at Wally, doubtful I'd chase a Mann (US made) filter. Just me.

the mann filters aap sells are clasics built to german specs, they now cost $1 more than the P1 filters.
