I needed some cabin filters, and our car is hard to find them for. I noticed on Rock Auto they have the Mann ML1003 for only $2.30. I've heard these might be reboxed Purolator Classics. I have a few Toyota filters left for my truck, but am running out and this seems dirt cheap.

The car is a Mazda but specs the same filter. Should I jump all over these and order a dozen? I use the same filter size on my truck's spin-on transmission filter mount. On Amazon these filters are over $7. The Puro Classic is $3.70 or something, and I think there are some rebates but those can be a pain.

Mann oil filter is good for the price, it is better than Fram Extra Guard and for less money and is about the same quality as Purolator Classic. If you're buying from Rockauto, you should buy 10-12 filters at once to minimize shipping cost per filter.

It's a purolator classic. Good filter. But not the Mann Hummel filters on German cars are different. I thought I was stealing fine German filters at 3.50...just to find out they are Puro Classic clones. Still a great deal!

OK, I'll probably order a few then. I've been using Pure 1's & OEM Toyota filters on the cars, but I'm only doing 5k/6mo intervals due to warranty so a Puro Classic should be good.

I need the cabin filters, and the Mazda's cabin filter is vaporware locally (except the dealer, most likely). I am getting about ready to change the Toyota's cabin filters too, so I figured I'd get the whole thing done in one order.

$2.30 PLUS $5.20 for shipping (to me) for one. $5.75 for two, $7.24 for 3, etc. One it's own a decent price for a rebadged Classic. After RA shipping added, not a deal for me. $1.50 rebate now on Classic, brings them to ~$2.00, P1's $3 rebate, same price.

I'll check shipping prices first, I guess. Fairly often the Fred Meyer stores near me have $1/off Purolator filters, that might be good too with the rebates.

Mann and purolator do share something, perhaps just distribution of odd part numbers.

I got a "purolator" at advance that was a mann in a puro box.
