Apparently nitrile rubber is yellow in raw manufactured states from reading about it awhile back. The white adbv may be nitrile, HNBR in the article, or silicone. I guess they tint nitrile black to make it look like black natural rubber. They can tint silicone however they like, maybe some is black.

Yes, they can make them any color they want. Silicone ADBVs certainly don't have to be red, but most are. Some are different colors though. For example, Royal Purple filters have purple ADBVs.

Agree, the vast majority of silicone adbvs are reddish in color. I believe the Mitsu blue adbv is also silicone. Not sure about the Mann gray/white color but I'd expect it to be silicone.

As for nitrile, I've never seen an advertised or promoted a black silicone adbv. It would seem if that was the case, the manufacturer would do so as silicone is the superior material for adbvs. Unless otherwise noted specifically, I have to assume black is nitrile.

The zig zag allows them to fit more media in the can, so yes
