Funny, the things I ponder in the wee hours of the morning by myself. In the solitude of nothing happening. Birds chirping, waves crashing, yeah, yeah, all great comforting and calming. Started thinking about what sounds are manmade that are like that. Then the ding of the coffee maker went off signifying a full pot of black heaven. I could actually feel the serotonin start to flow.

A small block Chevy with a lumpy cam, buggy/Jeep red-lining up an obstacle you can't walk on, a Husky Powersaw with a pipe.
Walking back from dinner in MEL - staying at a swanky hotel that always had exotic flat 12’s out front …
Suddenly, Che-Che-Che Ruummpp - rumpity rumpity rumpity …
We round the corner to see a mint ‘57 with more folks around it than just another Lambo LoL …

The American I’m walking with builds BBC’s and races them - half hour later I said see you in the morning - he had a new friend from Oz 😷

High performance 60s and 70s cars with factory exhaust, solid lifters, tailpipes ringing, and the engagement of the secondary throttle flap on a GM Quadrajet. The idle of a Y-block Ford. The idle of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The sound of my outboard Yamaha motor at full RPM trimmed up and the hull slap of my boat at top speed…. The sound of a fishing reel drag getting scorched by a heavy/strong fish.

The forcing of air past a sphincter....

The sound of a down comforter being fluffed on a cool winter morning.

The crack of a bat against a baseball on an early summer morning.

A nail being driven into a wooden plank while a neighbor builds his deck.

The first time I heard a Ferrari V12 engine start and reverberate its ripping-canvas sound off the walls of Chinetti's garage when I was 15 years old.
