This is a table with various internal engine parts welded for a customer. On top will be a small block Chevy mounted without the oil pan.

Looks good Tig. You could sell that stuff on Etsy. A friend of mine makes all sorts of industrial looking stuff and make a great part time income at it.

The customer will have the frame grit blasted and painted glossy black. The engine is already painted glossy Chevy orange with chrome attachments, like valve covers, timing chain covers, etc.

Thanks. There's actually a welding shop in St. Louis that has that saying on the side of their building.

Will the crankshaft of the SBC be removed so the engine sits "squarely" on the table top or are you going to cut a hole in the table top so the crank will extend below or will the engine be raised to accommodate the crank?
It sure looks metal and butch and all but MAN, it's going to be one heavy, unusable ornament...perhaps hazardously top-heavy.

Should I don my flame suit?

I would actually prefer a bigger table with a 500ci fuel hemi fully dressed. Let the kids have that sbc kids table. Nice job!

Ironically, the customer has been using M1 oils for 20+ years.

No, the oil pan is off and the crank and rods are removed. This will allow the engine to be set squarely on the top, straddling the welded pieces on top.
