Major North American Cities Replaced by Cities Across the Atlantic at the Same Latitude.

Never saw anything like this map before- thought it would be fun to post. Obviously, this is simply latitude, the map doesn't bring elevation, average winds, coastal impact in the calculations.

(NOTE: thread title updated for clarity - MOD)

"Makor North American CITY NAMES Replaced by those Across the Atlantic at the Same Latitude", is more precise.

Upon reading your title, my ever-fertile brain thought some master plan (yeah, right) to create Sister-Cities" for the purpose of revitalizing manufacture and resuscitation of the middle class had been incepted.
I was wrong.

I didn't know Bitumount, AL (Riga) was a major North American city.

Cool map nonetheless, GON. Keep 'em coming.

This might be a different slant to the "assisted migration" research I am involved with.

"Assisted migration is the human-assisted movement of plants or animals to more suitable habitats in response to climate change. It can be used for conservation or forestry goals."

Yep. People don't realize how far low in latitude the US actually sits. I think the Koppen-Climate classification is interesting. For example the SE US as similar climate as what is found in much of China.
