Here is a mahle OC338 filter cut open, came out of a 2009 Mazda 3 after 6000 miles of use of pennzoil platnium 5w-20. Oil and filter now changed with Valvoline synthetic 5w-20 and another OC338.

Here's an OEM Mazda filter cut open. Ran for 6000 miles on my 2009 Mazda 3. A Mahle OC338 went back on Edit: was looking at the picture of the ADBV and it clearly says FOMOCO... are Mazda oil filters repackaged Motorcraft filters nowadays? From reading around here, I thought OEM Mazda filters...
