I have a 2022 Mahinda Roxor Turbo Diesel and am about to change all the fluids in it.

Can I use AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® 80W-90 100% SYNTHETIC GEAR LUBE in the Differentials, Transfer Case and the Manual Transmission?

Here are the specs from the manual:

And here is what it says about Severe Gear oil. The concerning part is where it says "Axles" when referring to GL-4, but didn't say Transmission or Transfer Case.

I am not familiar with these but obviously they spec GL-5 for the axle and GL-4 for the transfer case and manual transmission so they clearly have to have a reason to not spec GL-5 throughout so me personally I would not, you can purchase GL-4 from Driven and many other companies.

Or contact Mahrinda and ask them why instead of taking a gamble, this could simply be an owners manual error.

I'm in the same boat. Risk outweighs reward

3rd Gen Tacoma, Using: Motul 300v in the diffs, Ford full synth m/t fluid in the trans and Toyota secret straight 70 sauce in the transfer case

Diff gear oil may change next time, but not the others. FWIW: despite what the book says Toyota dealer said unless I specified and payed extra, they would just use bulk 75w-90in all 4

GL5 fluids have an extreme pressure additive to make them suitable for use in hypoid gearsets.

Extreme pressure additives are typically sulphur-based. Sulphur is corrosive to yellows metals like brass and bronze. Transmission and transfer case often utilize yellow metals in their synchronizers. Not being a hypoid gear and having yellow metals, most manufacturers spec a GL4 for transmissions instead of a GL5.

I called Amsoil today and they said it would be fine, just hate conflicting info. Any recommendations for the best transfer case and manual transmission oil that is 80w90?

I guess not much difference between the 75 and the 80…? I live in good ole hot hot Georgia.

Mahinda wants GL4 for manual/transfer, not GL5. There is not doubt.
That GL5 could work or be compatible with GL4 is not the same as GL5 is equal to GL4. If you want use same oil for all parts then it's ok, if you want use right oil for each part according to manufacturer then it's not ok, oil brand can say misa, Amsoil MTG or other 80w90 or 75w90 GL4 is the way.

If they wanted you to use the same fluid for all those applications, they would have not gone to the effort to provide different info for those applications.

GL-5 in the diffs.
GL-4 in the Xfer and Tranny.

If you have to get the lube anyway, why not get the proper stuff?

.

Stick to GL-4 rated 75W-90 Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube for the transfer case and GL-5 rated Severe Gear 80W-90 for the differentials.
