Magnetic 1/4 in Hex Bit Holders

I only have limited experience with these, but my Craftsman magnet holds pretty well. OTOH the Harbor Freight no-name unit is pretty much useless.

For #2, not sure why you would want one in an impact. I guess sometimes they can be handy for holding a screw on a bit, but usually for me not a preferred approach. If you’re talking about short spaces it just adds length. I also avoid running bits in a drill, personally.

For #1, I’ve seen some in a true value store that claim to have the strongest magnet. I don’t know. But again, I rarely use these and prefer just running the right bit direct in an impact (usually a 1.5-2” length with a notch at the bottom) and nothing else. If I need to start a long screw with minimal help, Imhave one of the cheap Bosch ones that slides over the bit and screw, which works fine.

For both #1 and #2, I like the magnet for holding the screw on to the bit
