Does this oil have a high enough flash point to use in a 2.0 Ecoboost Turbo? Castrol website only says 200C degrees min.Turbos run hot so just wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

That oil has had excellent UOA results in the ecoboost engines. Prob one of the best oils out there for that engine.

every page will link back to the previous report.
You can trace back to when I first started using that oil in my '13 3.5 eco.
It was a semi-syn then.

Usually available from Amazon or Walmart.com at just under $20/5quart jug. Free shipping from WalMart with a modest quantity and from Amazon with a Prime membership

You have to be careful reading some Castrol data sheets, they don't always publish the actual measured value, but sometimes the min required value set down by some standard - to show they meet this standard. It's a little confusing and they can often use reference values and real values in the same spec sheet. Curse their black hearts......but don't worry, the Magnatec is a very good Ecoboost oil.

Yeah, check out these two Castrol GTX Magnatec product data sheets (USA)
[Magnatec 10W30 synblend ]
[Magnatec 5W30 full syn]

The 10W30 has real data values, HTHS = 3.18 cP, Noack = 6.95 %, KV100 = 11.6 cSt

The 5W30, apart from it's viscosity, mostly gives a list of max and min values required to pass various standards. For exams it's HTHS is listed as 2.9 min, which is the minimum requirement for a 30 grade oil under J300, it's not it's real HTHS value. Given it's KV100 = 11.2 cSt (real value) then I would expect a HTHS of 3.1 +/- 0.1 cP.
