I have seen MAG1 UOAs in the diesel section and MAG1 HDEO in the VOA, but unfortunately not in the gasoline section.

If they put as much care in their gasoline engine oil as they put in their HDEO, MAG1 is an excellent oil.

I forgot to mention, i also have 3 gallons of 5w-40 all fleet. Will post uoa next aug.

MAG1 oils are probably worth their price and no more. Expect very ordinary Group III so-called synthetic base stock and an additive package bought from one of the major additive suppliers. Nothing special. You might even bet better service from a top quality conventional oil than this low budget "synthetic." Just about every oil is perfectly OK except for a few very sketchy unknown brand ones sold in minimarts.

It's better than this post makes it sound. Mag 1 is to Warren Distribution as Valvoline is to Ashland.
Additive packages are supplied by Afton. A Warren Distribution rep told me that directly. They are very transparent and willing to discuss their products. Very trustworthy company.

Based on the info on the label I think Ken2 needs to publish a retraction........and..........an apology.

I'm a fan of Mag1 products. Whenever I see a WPP or WNE on the bottom of ANY bottle I don't hesitate to use it (in the proper application).

I've had both the valve cover and Oil pan off my work car and it's CLEAN... I MEAN CLEAN... been running Mag1 in that car for almost all the time I've had it...

Amazon has six pack deal for $30 shipped. Think I'll give it a try, if my car doesn't like it I can always pump it out w/ my MityVac & use them in my lawn mower instead.

yougoJAY, thanks for the pic, glad to see the SN rating.

Thanks for sharing this and the pics.

Was it listed and sold as SN? Or was it listed as SM but you got SN?

I ask because 0w-20 seems to be listed as SM.

It's possible that the product page on Amazon is not updated.

The label on 5w30 says Full Synthetic base stock, not from crude oil! If true, then it's a good deal at the subscribe and save price that brings it inline with the recent $4.00/qt pricing on PP at Walmart (some Walmarts allowed using the $6 PU coupon on PP, these coupons at are dead now though!)

Indeed. They have the best PDS in the industry, they provide a very complete set of properties for their oil. The polar opposite of say Castrol with their "OK" for vital statistics instead of solid numbers. They even provide high shear viscosity at 100*C which is something nobody else provides.

The product itself may not be in the top performance tier with Pennzoil Ultra and M1 EP, but it's a very solid value from a company with open and straightforward business practices. If anybody around here carried it, I wouldn't hesitate to use MAG1.

This is interesting to know....
I work at a small town grocery store (3 in the chain) here in NC, and my store stocks several Warren Oils (and trans fluids) in their Automotive section in one of the aisles

I noticed Warren 5w30 'Synthetic'Blend' containers that are priced at $2.38 each, among several other varieties...

It was listed as SM, but the bottles (1/2 case of 6) are labeled SN
so maybe the description was not updated...maybe since SM (2004!) Actually, it says on the Amazon page, 'first date available, December 22, 2011'
My order turned out to cost about $4.15 a quart....this is some sweet looking oil, maybe it's the clear bottles, but it looks good enough to pour on my ice cream tonite as a topping..

So is this a dexos oil? I see that the dexos site lists mag1 but I see no symbol on the bottles or even mention of it.

Edit: Ok now I see that there is a different dexos version listed on amazon.

Wow, 6 quarts for $20.80! Is that the cheapest full synthetic Dexos 1 oil?

Mags website says it is full synthetic. Mags website even posts the spec sheet for the oils. The Dexos and the regular full synthetic are identical according to them. It looks like the only difference is the bottle and the price.

I used their Euro 5W40 synthetic in my 2k Jetta and went 9k miles with it. It's a good oil and no complaints. I bought 6 qts from Amazon for around $32 with free shipping.

I did have oil consumption issues with the car and I averaged around 1/2 qt per 1k miles with Mag1. Consumption went down to almost 0 when I started topping up with M1 0W40 in the last 3k miles. I'm using M1 now as it is cheaper and available at WalMart.

Here's the PDS of their full synth line up:

WPP make good oil. In fact their regular dino ST 10W40 also gave me 0 oil consumption. Sadly, this is no longer available at my local WMT since they switched to Citgo ST.
