You commented you have vehicles on the bottom of that list. Those are electric vehicles on the bottom of that list so I said I didn’t know you had electric vehicles? Not sure what you’re saying? You think CR can track EV better than ICE for some reason?
CR does not track reliability very long. They also rank all problems with equal weight - ie the interior light or ECU quit - same to them.
It’s been covered on its own thread here many times and seems most members here have the same experience that I do.
Many comments about consumer reports without people actually reading it. Number one consumer reports does nothing but send out surveys to their members, their members answer those surveys. They do not report unless a significant amount of people reply by some mathematical formula. So if you see something one year, but not a significantly statistical response for a particular year on a product they will not publish those results.
Furthermore, every single aspect of the electric vehicle is reported by the owner. Including the driveline, a completely separate question.
The motor, another completely separate question and that Mach E motor received an excellent score of five out of five
For people who comment on consumer reports, they need to know the publication before commenting. I would be glad to post a screenshot of the results of the electric vehicles and the breakdown of the specific components that are answered by the people who respond to the surveys. It would make things so much easier for me.. it took a long time for me to type those results.
However, it is copyrighted material, so the publication itself cannot be copied and posted elsewhere. Consumer Reports does not allow reprint of their material and clearly not allowed here either for that reason
For the record except when I was 17 years old, I never owned a Ford vehicle and I am not defending Ford. I’m just saying it’s quite possible the OP got a defective motor. Defective motors happen in every single vehicle on planet earth but it doesn’t mean they’re all bad.
