. Love this show, any of you folks remember it and like it?

I remember it more fondly then it actually is.

I happened to dvr and rewatch an episode or 2, and it seemed super hokey and not at all as exciting as when I watched it originally when young

Yep they've been playing them the past few weeks. Seems cheesy now, but fun none the less. Gotta love that 80s sounding music!

This times 1000!

I'm surprised they haven't brought it back with Verizon Wireless and Google sponsoring it, with a twist: MacGyver has to get "something" from "the cloud" that further solves his problem.

Remember, it's a "bro show" written by Henry Winkler, aka Fonzie. I do like its production values, no CGI, and they go on location, even if it's Vancouver.

And this style of show, the (dumb?) action/ punch 'em up, died out with the series finale of "Walker, Texas Ranger". Everything now is more cerebral. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I watched a 1989 era Mac a little while back where they used a Fax chain mail system to organize protests against Tienamen Square.

Hey what ever happen to that character? Last I knew he was frozen or preserved in ice crystal at Antarctica on a Star Gate SG-1 episode....

Did they ever revive him?

Best episode was the first one.The nuclear meltdown underground...using candy bars to stop the leakage.Pete Thornton (Dana Elcar)wasn't Pete Thornton in that episode. He was somebody else.

I used to watch the show every week back in the day. But let's be honest. Going up against bad guys with guns (sometimes automatic) with his contraptions, traps, explosions, diversions, etc. would've simply got him shot in real life.

I get it that he didn't like guns, but why bring a knife to a gunfight....

Still a great show (to me, anyway) and I have quite a few episodes on DVR - and more being recorded each week.

I was a big fan of Murdoc......bad [censored] dude, anyhow I was 8 years old. Great show.

There is a funny outtake in which his role as MacGyver is mentioned. It's from one of the earlier episodes.
