Has anyone done a VOA on this stuff yet to determine what it really is? Delvac? Something else?

The local Wally's has it in stock now for $4.88 per quart. I wish they also carried it in the 5 quart jugs, like they do the other weights of M1.

Thanks!!

Thanks! Looks like a slightly tweaked D1. Good enough!

Maybe this will help with my oil consumption?

There appear to be inconsistancies in the VOA vs. UOA with Delvac vs. SUV.

For example ..they show a VOA of 20xx of calcium ..while my UOA shows over 2800. Zinc and Magnesium are also higher in my UOA ..but close enough to be in the testing variable.

So far I keep seeing slightly conflicting content ..and people still say "Yep! Sure looks like repackaged D1"

I noticed that a lot of the VOAs we have for Delvac 1 are for the CH-4/SJ version. I don't recall having seen a VOA for the CI-4/SL version of Delvac 1 to compare to the T&S VOA. I could be wrong though...

I'd bet when production becomes full scale and it get's to be a mainstream product, it'll be Delvac-Lite or Ultra-Lite to reduce cost.

Saw this oil at Walmart tonight in a 5qt jug. Has always been just in quarts.

I have about 6 cases of this and I have not seen it in gallon jugs ay Wally World either. It would be great since I use it in my Audi.

One obscure Wally's I went to is selling M1 T&S for a tempting price of $3.90/qt..and this is their everyday low price.

Makes you think twice vs getting Grp III Rotella 5w40 for only a $0.24 difference.

I have 2 Walmarts in town, one is $4.28 (they also sell the M1 EP for $4.29!) and the other sells it for $4.88.

Just last night I saw a box of the 5 quart jugs up on the stocking shelf, waiting to be stuck on the sales shelf. The box had a sticker of $19.97 or something on it, hopefully that will be the price because they also sell the regular M1 for about that price.

I am running this stuff through my Mercedes Benz with the straight six M103 engine - notorious for abusing oil over long high speed driving - and it didn't even burn a drop in the last 1500 miles!

one thing i can say about this stuff is that it CLEANS!

I ran M-1 T&SUV for 6500 miles in my T-bird(4.6L), and by that time, the oil was the darkest I've ever seen, even darker than I remember seeing after an Arx treatment rinse!!!

After that I'm running MC 10/30 & 10/40 mix now, and the oil is so clear after about 2k miles, I can hardly see it on the dipstick.

Yep T-Bird, I have noticed the same thing. I switched my truck over to it ~ 2000 miles ago and already it is way darker than I ever saw my 5/30 w/1 qt 15/50 M1 mix get. I have had M1 in my truck since 8000 miles, and this is the darkest I have ever seen any oil get in there. Apparently they put some scrubbing bubbles in there or something.....

I like the idea of using a HDEO as it should provide good protection as well as better cleaning than most PCMOs. It seems to be common knowledge that anti-wear additives like ZDDP compete with moly low friction additives and both compete with detergents for surface area, but HDEOs do much better in the typical long life diesels than other types of oils, so there have apparently been good decisions on how to balance cleaning with wear reduction. It seems that it would almost be a moot point if your oil has more anti-wear additives if the engine ends up with lots of varnish and sludge.

I just purchased a 5 quart can of T&S at Wally for 19.88. This was the first time I saw it there. It will be going in my Q45 in the next 1500 miles or so.

5 qt. jugs of T&S would be nice!!

The engine is my wife's GTP was pretty clean anyway after running M1. I switched to the T&S about 3500 miles ago, and it has cleaned the engine out even further! Looking down the oil filler tube, there is absolutely no sludge at all.

Saw it for $19.99/5q! $4/quart, that's just insane. I only needed 1q, so I passed on the jug and paid the extra $.78c. I know you guys would be proud of me not buying more than I needed.

I have so much SuperSyn laying around, I just want to use up my single fill of SUV and get it over with. 7500mi / 4 months sounds good. The dark-drain is something I hear over and over again. I consider my engine to be pretty clean internally so when I drain, I will be interested in looking for myself.

Care to share the location? My local Wal-Mart (down in Exton) doesn't seem to carry the M1 T&SUV and I'd love to grab some for my STi.

Andy

You may have to hit PepBoys (Frazer, I think). My WallyWorld dropped T&SUV after having it for about a year or so. You won't get the great price ($4.77) compared to D1 gallons shipped ..but at least it's available.

Andy, We have tons of it in Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre. $19.99/5q! I travel to Philly weekly if you wanna meet at the old IKEA in Plymouth Meeting Mall or something. My next fill is T&S, but I have a lot of 0w-30 and 0w-40 Mobil 1 to use after that. I mix it 4:3 to get a 12cSt, 0w oil. I call it Mobil 1 0w-35!
