A local Walmart in Irvine, CA has M1 jug of all grades at $22.xx while Valvoline Synpower and PP at $24.xx, M1 EP is $27.xx.

Price of quart bottle is $6.99 for M1, $6.49 for Synpower and PP.

Also, Marvel Mystery Oil is $2.50/qt. IIRC the price of MMO was $3.xx/qt at other WM's nearby.

This topic has been one of interest here since Mobil's more aggresive approach to WalMart business. I've nevered cared to pay the quart prices for Mobil 1, but with the 0W40 now available in the (5) quart jug for ~$22.xx, I may try it to see what everyone here raves about. Anticipated oil for a '03 Nissan Frontier, 3.3, with ~58,000 miles.

It makes the decision making process a little easier for some of us, and building a stash a little cheaper for some.

For somone like tig who uses M1 exclusively, this is a stock-up opportunity.
For those who have engines that actually need M1 0W-40, the same is true.
For most of us, who have no real brand preference, this is still too high a price for stashing.
Still, if I had needed oil for my recent change of the FF in my '12 Accord, I wouldn't have felt badly at all paying $22.47 for a jug of 0W-20 AFE.

Wish I could buy 0W40 jugs in Canada for the VW.

Why are Mobil 1 jugs 4.4 Liters while their major competitors are all 4.7 to 5L?
Along with the missing Chrysler cert, I don't use Mobil 1 in my Dodge.

Doesn't walmart just rotate the sale prices of oil, about two months ago it was pp, now it's m1 and castrol edge around here.

It does seem to rotate, however, Mobil was never part of that rotation and this is the cheapest it has ever been in recent memory at Walmart.

+1.
The last time Walmart had M1 this cheap was in the summer of '09.
There was also a $10.00 MIR from XOM that could be used 2X per name/address, so I got a couple of jugs of 0W-30 AFE.

Heck of a deal for that oil. Thanks for the tip.
Today marked only my second visit to Walmart.

For me it's a no brainer to get an M1 0W-40 jug at WMT for my next OCI for my Jetta. I thought I got a deal for six qts of Mag1 5W-40 at Amazon for $32 until this Rollback happened. The only other deal that would come close would be $5.29 per qt Valvoline Synpower 5W-40 at NAPA on their rotational sale. Gives me a chance to try both per OCI.
