About 50/50 highway and city driving, ave 60 miles each weekday and 0 on the weekends, only a quarter of a quart in makeup oil, using oem oil and air filters, no additives other than a bottle of dry gas every other week in the winter.

At 30K I switched over to 5W30 for the summer and changed the air filter. I'm planning on a 10Kmi OCI for this run. Any thoughts?

As soon as I exhaust my current supply of M1 I'll give their extended duration syn a try.

It looks like you ran this throughout the winter too! Nice report, this oil does not look used up at this distance in your conditions.

Excellent report. Oil held it's viscosity really well and the TBN is strong. You could go 15,000 miles with a filter change at about 10k miles IMO. I like the fact that after 9k miles, the oil is a solid 30wt still. What engine is this?

I take it all three changes were with the "SL" version of their 0W30?

It makes me happy to see that UOA, now that I've purchased 10 quarts of the same oil for the next couple of oil changes.

I know, I know: "...actual results may vary. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance...."

But it would be tough to argue with your results!

I agree with the analysis. The only engine for the CRV that year was the 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC four-cylinder i-VTEC. 162 hp. Good plant

OilGuard does my testing, a 6 pack costs $54.

This is the Honda vtec, 4 cylinder.

I switched to M1 when I swapped out the oem oil at 5000mis.

I picked up the M1 0W30 on clearance, ($2/Q for 200+ Quarts), when my stock runs out I'll switch to the new extended run and see what shakes out.

I think I'll stick with 10Kmi OCI, that will give me 2 changes a year.

Which ASTM test protocol was used to evaluate the TBN:

ASTM D-4739?

ASTM D-2896?

I'm guessing it was the latter....
