Lucid Air - The new Buick?

They are doing their interfaces right. 947V pack? Less conductors and copper.

Not the biggest fan on look, the car is too wide and flat to have a two tone roof like that. It looked great in the 50s, but the cars were shaped differently.

That said, hoping that LCID does well as I have a nice position in that.

I just saw a white one cruising on hwy 85 from south San Jose traveling west towards Los Gatos/Saratoga.
Sorry, but this car is butt-ugly. Plain. Flat. Fat. Strange...
I would call it a bathtub, but that would be a dig on the gorgeous, legendary Porsche 356 series.
No thank you.

Found this interesting. 7x the energy efficiency of a E63 AMG S, 200 HP more, 136 miles more range and twice the cargo volume. And an EPA estimated $13,500 savings in energy cost over 5 years.

The Lucid Air and Model S Plaid are the beginning of the end of internal combustion muscle cars and performance sedans/wagons. 👍🏻

There are a few good ones... But they don't make the GS anymore...View attachment 69599
Nor the Toyota Avalon, which I always thought was the underpinnings.

Lexus ES = Camry
Lexus GS = Avalon
Though the GS/Avalon - better car - is no more.

The Lucid, I am not sure that I like that particular car, but it is good to see variety coming to EV market.

My opinion may change on the Lucid as time goes by, definitely unobtainium (for me) in the short term.

The avalon is a FWD car, the GS is a RWD car. Not sure how you convolute the two.

Maybe Im wrong though?

The Lucid brings some interesting next-gen tech into the EV ring, but is a premium price and Im not sure Im 100% on the styling...

The GS is based on the Camry, to a large extent. Of course the suspension and drivetrain greatly differ.
The Avalon is a stretch Camry as is the current ES.

Hmmm. Well, in that case, I was wrong. No V-8 on Avalon available either. (Made in Kentucky, by the way. Avalons go bye-bye. Apparently they say tarted up Camry.)

Much like 4Runners are not based on Tacomas.

I think the Lucid styling.. definitely "New" but it almost looks like a bad Volkswagen Phaeton kind of. It may be a great car.

Yep, I wonder if the XL in Avalon XL or XLS was just trim level, or more extended wheelbase.

Avalon is a great car, but they got rid of it as did they the Land Cruiser* (still coming to US as an LX600 in various guises. Competes with 3rd gen Sequoia that will come out of Texas, which may be even roomier.)

Correct me if im wrong, but the GS is not similar to the Camry nor the Avalon in any significant way, it is an entirely different base chassis. It shares much in common with their JDM RWD luxury sedans like the Toyota Mark X, certain models of the Crown line as well as the Lexus IS. The ES is the FWD based on the Camry/Avalon platform.

As for the Lucid, I think they look great. Much better than a Model S. I think the styling on the model 3 and Y is pretty good but always hated how the S looks in person.

The GS has nothing to do with the Avalon, the Avalon is basically a longer wheelbase Camry. ES shares underpinnings to the Avalon and Camry. The GS is based on the same chassis as the JDM only Toyota Mark X, some models of the Crown, and the Lexus IS.
