Is the lucas tranny additive any good? My tranny has been slipping a bit and I was going to try the additive. Any insight would be good. Does it do the same thing to the tranny fluid as the lucas oil stabilizer does to the oil(foaming)?

I have the same problem, my trans is slipping and revving instead of going into 3rd gear. I flushed the system 2000 miles ago and it seems to be getting worse. I am planning to try this stuff to see if it can save me a rebuild, does anyone have any experience with it?
I used it on a few of my Aerostar work vans with similar symptoms. I was able to get another 40,000 miles plus out of the trannies FWIW
For what it costs, it IMO is worth a try. I doubt that it will do anymore damage to your tramsmission then what has already been done.

another product to try for a slipping tranny is Power Punch ..around 7 $$ a bottle ..helped me get another 6 months out of my honda
My educated guess is that Lucas transmission additive is the same as, or very similar to, one of the many limited slip differential additives available.
Adding one of these to a slipping transmission increases the coeffecient of friction of the fluid and can reduce slipping in a marginal transmission.
Yes, you are merely putting off the inevitable but as some have said, you may be able to do so more 6 months ... or even tens of thousands of miles.

i have a 95 escort, auto, that was slipping going into second and third......
a friend of mine told me about the stuff,
so i tried it ,
i dropped the pan, and put in one bottle ,its pretty thick , and the rest of tranny fluid.
and after a few mins of driving, the slip went away ....., i waited about 1000kms, and tried WOT starts to see if it would slip....., and it did not....,
so far its been a year and a half and 35,000kms, and no problems.....,
this summer i plan to drop the pan , and add a bit more of the Lucas stuff......

Have tried cleaning the trans with something like Transmedic or Trans-X etc.... Before I would try thickening the fluid I would add a cleaner and drive it a bit like 2-3 days and then drop the pan and change the fluid and filter. If that does not work then try Lucas. If your problem is caused by varnish build up it makes more sense to clean it then thicken the fluid?

I agree with John.
If the slipping is caused by varnish or other dirt buildup, Auto-Rx is the product to use. If it still slips after the Auto-Rx cleaning, then use Lucas or a similar product to keep it running long enough to sell.

I added a quart to the 4R100 tranny in my 99 F350 PSD when it was fine, just more of a preventive thing I guess....prior to my BITOG education about additives. 2 weeks later that transmission suffered a catastrophic failure that cost me over 3000 bucks, and it previously had no problems at all.
Don't know if it had anything to do with the Lucas or not, but I always wonder. Might not be bad to try in a tranny heading south, got nothing to lose.

If so, the OP added Lucas Oil Stabilizer into Phillips SMP 80w90 (25/75). It is NOT Lucas Tranny Additive.
A search with "Lucas Tranny" or "Lucas Trans" will gives you many user's opinions.
Lucas automatic tranny fix in and followed it up with Robitussin grape cough syrup
