Lucas Synthetic 5w30

Is this a good oil?

Also I read on the bottle that it meets/exceeds VW 502 but I don't see it anywhere else, did they just slap this on the bottle? It was also on the 5w20 bottle which I know isn't a VW 502 grade oil...

I saw it at Pep Boys for $5.99 per quart

I saw it there to yesterday and was going to post a similar question ..... the oils also meet ACEA A3.

I also just saw it at Pep Boys this afternoon. I never noticed it before. They also had Royal Purple which I never remember seeing there before either.
Has anyone used Lucas synthetic?

I used it for one oil change. The only thing that stood out is that it does not change color at the same rate as most oils. It stays a clear amber for much much longer. It also appears to be very high in Boron, but quite ordinary that aside.

Did you do a VOA or UOA?

Hmmmmmmmm............interesting; making mental note, in case I ever do my VW 1.8T/5w20 experiment.
