Lubegard in new 62te.

Just installed a new mopar trans in our 2019 caravan yesterday.
Iv put the lubegard red bottle in every car iv owned. Should i put some in this trans too? Or its new leave it alone.
If i do put it in i was only going to use a half dose. My trucks do for another flush so i need the other half in that.

The only thing you should put in a new transmission is new transmission fluid and keep up with the maintenance.

It won't hurt a 62TE, but who knows if it will help anything over just doing regular ATF drain/fills.

How long did that original 62TE last in that 2019? What happened with it?

167171 when i took it out. Bought it 140 on it and i dont think it was ever serviced so i knew it was a time bomb lol.

It had some random hard shifts for the last year. Then was headed to the airport to pick up the wife and kids from visiting grandma in flordia and it started flairing and shuddering quite a bit. Over the next few days after that it got worse and worse and i called it then. We have 3 more family trips out of state this summer so i threw a trans in it. With the miles and unknown history i didnt feel like wasting time trying to fix it.

That's a shame, but ~167K isn't too horrible for a unit in this type of service, having never been serviced!

Did you put an aftermarket pan with a drain plug on it? Doorman used to make a decent one for the 62TE, not sure if that's still the case, or if there's others.

It is what it is. I bought it needing a motor. Now it has a new trans. Im $8000 total into a basically new vehicle at this point so .

And Not yet. I will when i change the filter.
