Lubegard red 4t65e slip?

My moms 2007 Impala has developed the dreaded slip from a stop in 1st gear. It's more of a delay, but if you floor it, it will not go and then bang into gear and go.

It's had 1 flush at the dealer around 50K and then a complete dipstick trans change by myself with Maxlife at around 90K. Car has 120K.

From reading about these transmissions, it seems to be valve body varnish related? Anyone had any success slowing down these symptoms with Lubegard red? I'm thinking about doing another full change with Maxlife and adding Lubegard red.

Sounds like a good idea to delay the inevitable. You may also want to add some Dr. Shudder Fix by Lubegard.

This transmission is supposed to have Dexron Vl in it. The delayed shift can be a solenoid. A PITA to replace in the car. But I did it.
A flush and Lubegard won't fix a solenoid.It's an electronically controlled trans.

My Monte does the same thing. Changing the fluid certainly helps. I've noticed that with each change it gets less and less frequent.

My parents 2005 Uplander with the same transmission had the same issue. When pulling away from a stop it would be unresponsive for half a second or so then bang into gear. There was no slipping or raising of the tach during any of this. The transmission had a rebuild but that didn't solve the issue. They ended up taking it back a second time and they replaced some sensor if I remember correctly, no issues since.

In other words, they hosed them on a transmission rebuild, when all it needed was a sensor.

May have been a solenoid. They should be changed when a trans is rebuilt.
