Lubegard and B12 arrive

I mentioned in another thread that my work got in B12 (big deal, it's just B12). Not interesting. We also got in Berryman's 3-part cleaning kits with included hose and fittings. Semi-interesting. Then I spotted Lubegard Kooler Kleen. OK, cool. Finally, I see Lubegard Transmission Flush and Lubegard Transmission Protectant. Very cool! Too bad none of them have a place on the floor yet, and I have no idea if any other Advances have any. They seem to like using our store as a test store.

The other local stores still don't have any in. It's cool to be able to get it so easily and cheaply now. I'm gonna look into Lubegard more, might throw some in when I drain the pan. Unless I spring for a flush, in which case I'll be using synthetic M1 or BG ATF.

When I first got my 9-5, I asked my fellow 9-5 owners on saabcentral what they recommended and Lubegard was the clear choice. Since I've had practicallly all manuals, I was wanting to make sure I did the transmission fluid change right. The 9-5 has a great Aisin Warner box.

the berryman's 3 part cleaning kits are decent.

(as long as you are referring to the fuel system cleaner).

3M is a bit better though.

Yeah, the fuel system cleaner. Haven't seen the 3M kit locally, though I rarely meet a 3M product that isn't good. What I really want to know is what is different about regular B12 chemtool and the can for induction that comes in the kit. It specifically says to not use that one in the tank, and to use the other can for the tank (presumably regular chemtool). I mean isn't chemtool mostly Toluene? Did they use a different solvent?

Actually, the total combustion chamber cleaner (or whatever) has a little more stuff in it.

Sweet, thanks! I double checked, and that is the can that's in the kit, as well as the fuel system cleaner.

The classical 16oz. B-12 Chemtool lists a few more ingredients on the bottle than that's on the current MSDS!

Toluene, Methanol, Acetone, Mixed Xylenes, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, 2-Butoxyethanol and Isopropanol to be exact.

This is an older metal can (not the newer expansion molded seamles type, the one with seams.) So did the Berryman made the B-12 somewhat softer and moved the harsher solvents to the kit?

Seems possible. They warn against putting the combustion chamber cleaner in the tank, in any case.
