Lube for latches?

I prefer a HD Silicone spray. Leaves a waxy type film that doesn't attract dirt. In addition; it does not cause problems if clothes rub against it.

Any grease will just sit on the surface. it may do some good for contact parts on latches.
But you need something that will get inside.. Penetrate and lubricate. Grease will not do this.
Good old engine oil in a squirt can is good. Many spray can lubes are good, but thin ones like standard WD40 are to thin to last very long.
Motorcycle chain lube is good, as it sprays on thin, then evaporates to leave a heavy film. It is designed to get into small cracks and crevices.
