Lowes now limits discounts for Vets

If you don't like them, do not shop them. Your opinion is useless. They employ a lot of people and there's no benefit yielded from their demise.
I try to help out the local small businesses when I can. A lot of times I get a better product too.

Sorta OT but we used to go to a "sushi buffet" that was reasonable quality. They had a club where after 8 visits, and on your birthday, you get a free meal. It was like $29 for dinner maybe 10 years ago. One day they asked us for ID. The reason was they said too many people were lying about their birthdays and had multiple club cards. :ROFLMAO:

There's a restaurant here (Captain Newick's) that give you a free meal on your birthday, but you need your birth certificate, not a license or anything else.

As for the original post, Lowes can only be so charitable. As a non-veteran, non-senior citizen I imagine a retailer offering 10% off to decently sized demographics as having "too much margin" and this turns me off as a shopper.

My dad served in the U.S. Army Reserve during Vietnam but stayed stateside. He doesn’t like any of the soldier and first responder glory. He doesn’t expect nor partake in any discounts he could get.
I have friends who spent time in the sandbox. I have no issue with them getting a discount anywhere. My uncle served in Nam, died a early death from a heart attack. No discounts for him back then either.

I have a relative that was a MP - never left the green zone. Has PTSD and is on permanent government disability. He doesn't need a discount.

They wouldn't take me. Birth defect disqualified. I am defective - according to them. There loss, call me bitter if you like.

Teachers get nothing and serve on the front line battle zone daily - if you want to know the group that truly holds our future in their hands.

For Lowe’s, I just use coupons I purchase online. The ones I like are the $20 off $100. I just plan my purchases out or I’ll throw in some air filters for the house or something to get to $100. The coupons cost me $1.50 so it works out well. They are emailed instantly.

Not that we like MPs or we would ever really defend them but even though he was in the IZ, he was still in a combat zone in the middle of a war. One of the north gates into the IZ was literally called "Assassin's Gate" because of the Iraqis sniping servicemembers who were in charge of operating the gate and security. The IZ would still get mortars and rockets coming in. We were about 100-150 yds away from a few mortars one day at the old Embassy/Republican Palace.

Anybody who thinks they can fool the cap'n, is gonna end up lashing the mast and reefing the mainsail! :ROFLMAO:
