Well, this is a learning experience. I have been trying different flours to replace white flour.
Almond flour was OK. I made biscuits they were so-so.

Bought coconut sugar to see if that would be doable., jury is still out on that.
I did buy some erythritol to try.
Basically trial and error. Sugar, or more accurate HFCS, is everywhere in everything.
I went to the ADA but what they recommend seems like it's still a fair amount of carbs.

Drinking lots of water, sometimes mixed with MIO. Tea unsweetened.

Pretty much. HFCS is a little different animal though.
Oh, fiber is key, taking Metamucil.
Blood sugar is way down now.

Doc reduced my med by half. Doing something right.

I get the majority of my carbs from vegetables. Kicking the starches is tough for the first couple weeks, but it gets easier after that. Having lots of fresh veggies prepped in advance for snacking helps as well. Nobody wants to peel a carrot when they're hungry.

Oh yes munch on carrot sticks. I also snack on almonds and pistachios.

Excellent!!!

I have been on a low carb diet for past two months and eat chicken/meat veg/fruit and one carb per day. Have lost 15 lbs. Tough for first few weeks.

Actually it's called low glycemic load diet. No fruit juice but lots of fruit.

You do not count calories but just eat one carb per day. Often it's brown & wild rice for me.

I bring an Atkins frozen entree to work along with yogurt that had no added sugar.

They even have Klondike no sugar added ice cream bars.

Americans were told a lot of bad info over the past 20 years about fats. Most of the research was funded by the sugar industry. Saturated fats are bad but the rest, not so much. Refined sugar is bad news all together.

I quit eating bread in december. No burritos, no biscuits, no sandwiches other than no bread I eat almost anything although I go easy on the rice and potatoes ,Ill eat an egg roll or something fried. Im very creative with what I eat, lettuce wrapped fill in the blank is actually very enjoyable, I love bunless burgers, grilled hot wings and playing with seasoning is a new favorite .I will admit in december I plan on ordering a calzone, pizza was my favorite, I did make pizza once with ground beef as the crust. Lost 35 lbs in 3 months with a little gym but I hurt my back at work and stopped going. Good luck stay strong it gets easier with time

1. Make your own salad dressings from scratch. Not only tastier, but no added sugar.

2. Snack on nuts.

3. I like tuna salad with lots of spices, herbs and apples. Use lettuce leaf instead of bread.

4. Bike ride every day.

5. Grilled chicken salad is a regular for me.

6. Look up low glycemic-index foods.

7. Dark, bittersweet Ghiradelli chocolate!

8. Egg omlets, strawberries, REAL yogurt for breakfast.

I'm marching towards 60 pounds lost.

Just had a full bloodwork done and everything is in normal category. Blood pressure normal, everything.

Breakfast is always black coffee and an isolate whey shake with non sweetened almond milk.

Lunch is always julianne salad with a huge avacado, and a good amount of full fat dressing.

Supper is usually grilled meat with veggies, or fish. Not a ton of red meat, maybe 1x per week.

Weekend breakfast is a pound of bacon with egg omelet.

Weekday dinner is sometimes 6-8 egg omelet, southwest style, or greek style.

Drink is either water, or unsweetened tea that I brew myself.

No sugar, no bread, no potatoes, nothing.

Supplements are costco multivitamin, costco B vitamin, and I started taking 3 drops of nascent iodine.

Exercise is swimming laps maybe 30 minutes 2x week, and light weights in my living room.

You should consider an additional guideline to whatever else you do. Only eat food and water. No preservatives, corn sugars, weird fats, extra salt, antibiotics in meat and chicken, or other such nonsense that ends up in your food. It's a bit of work at first but soon it becomes easy.

The coconut palm sugar is supposed to be low-glycemic.

The good thing is once you cut way down on the bad carbs and sugar, you lose the cravings for them as well, (especially the sugar).

My Mom will sometimes bring home a piece cake they had for someones birthday at her office, if it looks decent I'll have some, just for a treat, but I can feel the major sugar high since I rarely eat that kind of stuff anymore.
