Well, somebody who is capable of doing that (aka using DVM) will NOT be asking the original question in the first place!!!

By the way, the expensive aka higher brightness bulbs absolutely and routinely burn out in 6-12 months. Anything over year and you have gone better than 80% of them!

OP still has NOT said that he put new bulbs after the low beams went out.

Around post 15, OP said he finally checked the bulbs, they were burnt, so apparently replaced them, hit the switch and viola!

Whenever a system based on an incandescent bulb doesn't light up, ALWAYS check the bulb first and only if it is definitely good, start on more complicated stuff.
