Lost luggage

My baby flew in from Oakland Ca. on a Southwest Flt and she arrived but the luggage did not. Asked at BWI last night and the luggage was in Little Rock and was put on a flt this morning. Went to BWI at 1300 and the bag was no where in site. The trace said the baggage was put on the plane in Little Rock this morning and they do not know where it went from there. This flt had stops in St. Louis and then Louisville before BWI. Called everywhere and they told me they did not see it. Now my wife and daughter are off to go clothes shopping and I am watching the pecan pies.

Southwest told me that they will give us 200 dollars for the lost luggage but in real money we only get 100 of that. The ladies at the baggage claim told me that they never check their bags, always take them on the plane.

That's a bummer. Mother and daughter clothes shopping together. I hope your credit card is tuned up

. I came back from England to Newark NJ, my destination airport, and my luggage was no where to be found. Try explaining to Immigration and Customs why you checked in with luggage but you don't have any now

. After a thorough body cavity search they determined I wasn't a terrorist and let me go

. My luggage showed up at my door the next day. It went to Boston. Of course they broke it open in Boston because it was locked and nobody to claim it

. Don't be surprised it you get it in the next day or two. Of course your credit card will be "exhausted" by that time

Thanks, I just hope it gets here before she leaves, I guess I will have to put it back on Southwest to Oakland.

Interesting we were stationed in England and I went to H.S. in Middletown NJ in the 70's. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Before machine printed tags, I learned that if the bagage clerk writes SJO for San Jose in stead of SJC your bag goes to San Jose Costa Rica instead of California.

I also learned that if they write a lazy C that looks like a U, your bag can end up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. That year my bags went more interesting places than I did.

Alway know your airport codes and check the tags yourself. Since then I have caught a couple of errors at check in and saved myself lost baggage.

I think the tag printing process is automatic now and tied to your reservation in the computer, so there is less chance of error now. I still check.

Southwest lost ours as well going to San Antonio in September. We got them later that night, but my wife had an abcessed tooth at the time and left her meds in the suitcase (dumb move

). Customer Service lady said that the codes for San Antonio and San Diego are similar and could've gotten mixed up.

Staff at our hotel could not have been nicer and more accomodating during a difficult situation, therefore I will highly recommend the Hotel Valencia if anybody ever has to go there.
