I lost a bet with a coworker on Sunday. I had Yuki Tsunoda finishing within the top seven at Suzuka.

Now this happened. I have to actually wear this Invicta for an entire week. Worst bet of my life lol

I always thought the watches the F1 drivers strapped on for the podium ceremony were comically oversized just to be visible on TV.... But I guess not
I had high hopes for Tsunoda too, after the first practice, but it seems Max can fine tune the car so it works for him over the weekend, and he's a **** good driver!

You would "poo yer pantz" in Max's car

Q3 ruined Yuki's race. I have a feeling he will be performing much better going forward. Hadjar looks fast also.

Max is on a different level.

Humor is good for the soul. I needed a good hearty laugh this morning. Thank you.

I lost a bet a few years ago and ended up skinny dipping in the AuSable River (remote northern area) in October. Talk about shrinkage!

Yes, if you watch his hands on his pole lap, it almost looks easy. But he is fantastic at quickly unwinding just enough steering to keep the back end from ever sliding enough to get "too much" rear slip angle. It's hard to see almost in some corners, but the little twitches of counter steer keep the rear tires in the window for max grip, while holding the line he needs.
For autocross I'd set up the ol'Neon to do the same, just maximize the front grip by stiffening the rear, and deal with the backend coming out. We'd always get 5-6 runs so I usually could put together one run, and it felt better having the speed in my hands, and not dealing with understeer. It was quite a handful with that setup on a bit faster track though, even with a fwd car, and I can't imagine dancing a car around at F1 G's and speeds, but I guess that's why Max is a 4 time WC. I was exhausted in 20 minutes, and started making too many mistakes....

You are probably not far off. I saw a video where a Ferrari F1 mechanic back in the Schumacher era watched Schumacher spin at 160ish plus miles per hour and he casually radioed that he messed up lets try it again. Most people would be screaming freaking out if that happened.

Max actually said that hence my quotes - last week after qualifying

Channeling my inner Crocodile Dundee, that's not an Invicta, THIS is an Invicta.

Only 58mm in diameter.

That having been said, some of their diver watches aren't all that bad, but when Invicta wants to go out on a limb with a design, they have a habit of going waaaay out on said limb.

Note: that is not my arm/watch. It needed to be said.

people complaining that someone's watch is too big.
No. It's a friendly wagerer (loser) pointing out how gosh the watch is. He's not complaining in the regular sense of the word.
His comment is a swipe at all tasteless, grossly oversized bling watches.

There is a good side to these.
Wasn't it James Bond who was under water and survived by capturing and breathing the air bubbles as they streamed out of the Invicta he was wearing?

I kinda like the Hello Kitty watch!

Yeah, that's a common approach in SCCA autox, especially with FWD cars that usually are designed to understeer at the limits. Reducing that understeer vastly improves their handling & overall steering response. And in many cases the mods are easy & inexpensive. Sometimes all it needs is a stiffer rear swaybar, no need for shocks, springs, etc. At least start with that, see how it works, you can always do more if necessary.
