I have a cheap one that came from JC Whitney in the 80's. It's never been calibrated. Before I knew better I used to leave it dialed up to 80lb-ft all the time. All I use it for is torquing lug nuts. I doubt it is terribly accurate, but I think it is good enough for that task.

I am so OCD about mine that even if I am changing over/taking off all four wheels, I will dial down my SK wrench even in between each wheel removal/install in order to save the calibration!!
I would bring in your torque wrench into your next therapy session. (Not dialed back to 0).

I gotta watch the next NASCAR race and make sure those pit crews are using a four-way lug wrench when cars pull into the pits for tire changes!
What ever you use to tighten the lug nuts, be sure you have the wherewithal to loosen them. My cars have a crank for a lug wrench. I stomp on the crank to loosen or tighten. Haven't lost a wheel yet and can swap a tire in about 10 minutes. I threw my Craftsman 1/2 beam torque wrench away ages ago. I borrow my BIL's for heads and such.

I only started doing the final tightening with my torque wrench about five years ago. Prior to that I just used my four-way wrench. I used to try to tighten as evenly as I could, but I am too strong for such intricacies and am sure I was overtightening. No matter how tight I made them I never had any trouble breaking them loose later. Regardless of how accurate my torque wrench is it allows me to make them evenly tight.
I have twisted off more than my share of bolt heads in my life. There is such a thing as too much leverage. As badly as people on here have criticized, I still use light machine oil on my lug nut threads to prevent locking.
