I can't say, I'm at work a lot, so I usually only notice them on weekends. I see them arounf the begining of April, but they could be here before that and I might not see them
Don't know where you are in NC, but here in the Upstate of SC (about an hour away from Asheville) we see them coming back about now. Reminds me, I have to get some feeders and put them out.

I like the First Nature brand of feeders.
Easier to clean.

For those new to humming bird feeding, you must clean the feeder , in hot weather, every 4 days or so.

If you are not going to do that, don't put feeders out. Mold in the feeder can develop fast in hot weather and can kill or sicken humming birds.

Avoid decorative feeders that are hard to clean, and hard to see if the nectar is clear.

Make your own nectar, don't use the red dyed junk.

My mix for nectar during begining season, and end season when its colder is, 1 cup sugar to 3 cups water.

During warm weather its 1 cup sugar to 4 cups water.

Only use pure white sugar. Raw or turbinado sugar has too much iron and it will kill them.

I have retract my statement.

I DID like first nature feeders. I don't now.

I ordered 2 new ones , and they arrived different than the website picture and different than previous models I've bought.

In my opinion this is a poor design that might even injure the birds. There is no wiggle room if the bird moves it's body, while it's beak is in the feeder. I can't recommend this feeder anymore.

Old style feeder port.

New style feeder port that's supposed to be bee resistant.
Sending it back for refund.

I did just purchase this Wild Birds Unlimited hummingbird feeder. Made in the USA, looks easy to clean, nice feeder ports.

Metal insert for the hanger. Center is for water as an ant resistant moat.

Only down side I see is there is no self refilling reservoir, like the bottle feeders. If the level drops too much they can't feed. I'll post later if is works well, I'll keep bottle feeders up as well.

I have been using the same design for the past 4 years. I think I got them off Amazon. Easy to fill. Easy to clean. Aerodynamic in the wind. And best of all they breathe. Feeders I’ve used in the past didn’t breathe so when it gets hot, they would leak. These are great. The hummingbirds like them. So does a woodpecker

Actually, I found them Amazon still sells them

Did you order from Amazon? I ordered from First Nature's site and they have both the "old" style like your first picture (993051-001) and the "new" style, which they list as bee/wasp protection feeder # 993058-002. I got the wider opening one.

Yes Amazon order. The older ones are great.

I'm glad you got the older style. Those are great. The older one was pictured on the amazon site, but i got what was shown.

I have these first nature ones as well, that work fine, attract the hummingbirds fine. But you must clean under the removable flowers.

So not as easy to clean and time consuming, but it works well

It was the same when I was shopping them on Amazon. I went to the First Nature site to make sure the Amazon offering looked legit. Thats where I saw the difference between the two and decided that I didn't like the bee/wasp design. Thought it would discourage birds from feeding. Didn't want to take the chance that I would get the bee proof design, so I bought directly from First Nature. They had a springtime coupon discount, and along with my "new member" discount (30% off total), which paid the postage. It was a basically the same cost with Amazon, but I got the ones I wanted without the return hassle if I didn't.
