Last toured Oz 15 years ago, and we all thought that was the last we'd ever see of them...all their tours went everywhere but here...250,000 people at Rock in Rio.)although some sick puppies were perving at Britney before them)

Well they are touring again.

And they are coming to Oz.

Feb 9th at Acer Arena.

(looking at motel prices for the next few days, I think the inside running might be that there's more than one show)

Befores and afters in Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane.

Bruce Dickinson (lead singer) is piloting the jumbo with all their kit.

Wow. they are still touring? Wonder how many of them are the actual founding members?

Steve Harris (bassist) was the founder on 1975
Dave Murry (lead guitar) was in very early.
Adrian Smith (lead guitar) joined in 1980, left in 1990, and came back in 1999.
Janek Gers (lead guitar) joined in 1990.
Nicko McBrain (drums) joined in 1983.
Bruce Dickinson (pilot and vocalists) joined 1982, left 1993, and rejoined 1999.

It's the most popular incarnation of the band at present.

Few years ago, they held a concert, the proceeds of which went to Clive Burr, their former drummer, suffering MS.

Awesome band is Maiden! I saw them in Hartford, CT in "Somewhere on Tour". I have a Steve Harris Precision bass that I play my favorite IM songs on, including Hallowed Be Thy Name and The Trooper. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing another IM concert.

UP THE IRONS!!!

Tickets bought, accomodation booked.

Now all that remains is to wait it out until Feb 9th.

I feel like a teenage dirtbag.

Halllowed Be thy Name...I used to sing that soooooo well at 2AM and 90MPH.

Nah, I'm not much into Bon Jovi.

(They did an impromptu tour of Oz a few years ago, where they toured the outback playing at pubs...not being Bon Jovi).

Ratt are in town soon, and I won't be going to them either.

I just listened to it - great song, Bruce is a fantastic singer.

I used to listen to that album in 1983 while doing janitorial work - every song is fully emblazoned on the melon. Wow ... that's making me feel a bit old - that's almost 25 YEARS ago!

Last Concert I saw (fleetwood mac), they had one of Stevie Nicks' solo works.

I doubt 'arry will let Bruce sing "Book of Thell", (or son of a gun, Tears of the Dragon, Bohemian Rhapsody, Fog 'o' the Tyne, Black Widow, or the rest)

Not that I'm complaining, I get to see Iron Maiden, drive my beater down the Bell's Line of Road, and (I hope) drink Coopers' Sparkling Ale before the show.
