My wife/I determined we want to get a 7+ passenger vehicle to replace my 2004 Subaru WRX wagon that is beyond reliable but cramped. Accoring to KBB I can get $9k-11.5k for car.

I seldom drive(6k miles/year) so fuel economy is not top priority with it. It will be used for occasional long trips too.

We don't have lots of money to spend beyond what we get for my WRX this year. I saw a craiglist 06 Sienna minivan 83k miles for $11.5k but far away and not that excited to drive one.

Any suggestions in the $11k-14k range?

oops! that shoots down the CX-9.

My vote would be for a used Suburban. Allows plenty of storage space too. Anything else is akin to a minivan for space behind the rear seats..ie not much...

& you can get them these days very afford-ably.

Suburban came to mind as a vehicle the 12mpg scared me off and I only will be able to closer to city mileage. My WRX currently achieves 20MPG with my driving type.

What are the thoughts on Honda Pilot's. I see many of them but not sure if they have serious problems or just run. They also are 8 passenger which looks great.

I guess I am looking for 15MPG+ not much, but when not if fuel spikes.

Depending on options, I would go for the 2007 Saturn Outlook.
Seats 8
High feature V6 275hp, 250ftlbs
6 speed auto
rated for 26mpg on highway
tows 4500 lbs.

You can find them for $15K and less if you are not super picky about options and miles.

That is what I am looking for to trade for my Audi since my wife and I just had our 4th child.

If you like the looks of 'em I suppose it's one to consider. You'll be looking at the first gen, which I find incredibly boring looking. 2nd gen isn't as bad IMO. Boring to the point I don't think I'd give up the MPG penalty to a minivan.

Thanks for that tip. I drove the Buick version and liked it but have seen $$$$ prices used.

8 passenger is what I was referring to looking great not the looks. I don't think any of the SUV's look good except maybe current generation Grand Cherokee and Ford Explorer actually look nice.
