Hi,
I am new here. I love this forum for all the knowledge. It has also cleared up some doubts about oil consuption that I had.

I am convinced from all the reqading that KREEN is not going to harm much but mostly benefit an engine that eating up oil. I have a Nissan Murano 2007 that eats a little it of oil (about 1/2 quart every 3000 kms). There is no smoke in the morning on a cold start but I am not sure what comes out when I floor the beast.

My problem is that I live in Dubai, UAE and KREEN is not available here. I have contacted KREEN and they are willing to ship FedUp but havent gotten back since I gave them my mailing address.

Will someone be kind enough to send some KREEN (2 qt) my way. I have an excellent Ebay rating and we can do the transaction there. I would pay advance.

Honestly on this engine an 07 with only 55K miles i think Kreen would be a waste of time.
You live in a very hot climate so it could be just you need a slightly heavier oil, preferably one with some cleaning effects.

I don't know what you are using right now but Mobil 1 0w40 would be a great choice for this engine in your climate.
Mobil 1.de recommends 0w40 for the 3.5 VQ engines through 2008 outside the U.S.

Edit: I don't think i would use anything that may thin the oil in your situation (very high temps).

I agree with Trav, you may not need Kreen to stop the oil consumption, try Mobil 1 0W40 which is one of the best Mobil 1 oil.

It isn't that nobody wants to help you obtain few bottles of Kreen, but why waste money for something you don't need to fix/reduce the slight oil consumption.

1/2 quart every 3000 km? equates to what, 1,864 miles for us across the pond? I suppose, that is quite the consumption

Have you determined why/where it's burning off? Have you tried anything like Seafoam or MMO in the crankcase, to see if that will remedy it....? Last I checked, KREEN is primarily mail-order only..at least haven't seen it locally..

But then again, even MMO and Seafoam may be hard coming by "across the pond"....since they are U.S. distributed products...and I realize you'd pay a mark up for transportation out there either way.

Both MMO and Seafoam have similar uses in the crankcase, basically for MMO, you add 1 qt per 4 qts of motor oil (if your vehicle takes less than 5 quarts of oil, I typically just use the pint, for ease of use....) basically swapping in the 1 qt of MMO for the 1 qt of Motor Oil....take the vehicle out to 3000 miles or so, then change out the oil and filter as scheduled, and that's it.

Some people will also use the MMO as "top off oil" between OCIs.....but the most important part (according to MMO themselves...) is to not go over 3000 miles with the MMO in the crankcase....no idea WHY....exactly....but I have noticed over time the oil level will drop, making you think you got a leak or are burning oil....I found after about 2k my oil level dropped...presumably the MMO "seeps" past the rings and thus burns off......being that it is dual use as a gasoline additive, it does make sense, since it has a flash point to burn within the fuel as well...but that's the total idea, it works "just enough" to loosen up the carbon/sludge/deposits, so it can be suspended within the oil filter and/or drained out at the next scheduled OCI....

From the limited research I've done, Kreen seems similar to the B-12 CHEMTOOL product, in it's use of harsh, but powerful solvents, to get your engine/fuel system clean..

BUT, last I checked, Berryman actually removed the "Engine use" directions from their CHEMTOOL product.....I'm thinking they had complaints from people who "mis used" the product, i.e.: overdosed (oh! MORE must be BETTER, etc....thinking...) so they took the motor oil use off of the bottle to protect the "stupid"

I've seen various rave reviews of it's use in the crankcase...with no problems....as with Kreen, everyone seems to have their own "sweet spot" for the desired dosage.....but I definitely would not put a whole pint of Berryman into an engine! Maybe 4 oz.....maximum 6 oz.

You aren't going to save any money having someone send it to you versus having Kano labs send it. Not unless someone wants to get ride of some of their stash.

Kano charges real shipping rates and there are only a few ways you can send such highly combustible products. I doubt you can send it by any method that uses airmail as part of the shipping. Without airmail getting from the US to the UAE is very hard and probably very expensive.

I think the choice locally for them is UPS ground and that can take a week or more in the US. I doubt there is a cheaper method available that it legal too.

Heck, some people here from California complain they can't get it sent to them.

Hi all,

Thanks to all who posted. I really appreciate your responses and concern.

I estimated 1/2 qt for a 3000 km oil change. Not actually measured it yet. The reason I want to do kreen treatment is because the inside of the engine (peeping from the filler hole) is all black coated. I have a Maxima and two Altimas in the family and the parts look clean and golden inside.

Yes, it is VERY HOT here. Specially in traffic jams, I have seen ambient temp figures of 46 Deg. C. this summer on the car gauge. BUT its almost winter here now and the day peak reaches about 32 Deg. C. The oil that normally sells in this market is 20W50 because of the heat. However, various stores carry 10W30/40 5W40 etc... The dino is recommended for 3000 kms and the synthetics for 10K kms. Semi syn for 5K.

KANO is shipping me ac gallon of it via my courier account. I could not log in earlier to read your posts. Anyways, a clean engine wont hurt. I can always dump some in my wife's Maxima as well. That car consumes next to NOTHING.
