Looking for An Amsoil Education

The Oil Filters are fine.

This leaking thin means nothing, take 2 engines, 1 uses this Amsoil oil filter that has these so-called issues, and another engine uses the so-called perfect oil filter for 200K or 300K, there will be no difference in engine longevity. The most important thing is to use a good oil like AMSOIL Signature Series and to also use a good Air Filter.
Another thing that needs to be made clear, is that Amsoil does not make their own Oil Filters, if Amsoil made oil filters like there AMSOIL Signature Series oil's, it would be awesome.
For the price they are not fine. You can do better at half the price. If you’re paying for a high efficiency premium filter that’s what you should get, no a low efficiency filter with leaks.

Then what should these Oil Filters that are not fine be priced at?
. You can do better at half the price.
That is Debatable

The way things are going with Oil Filters these days, it seems CARQUEST with the Blue Lettering on the can is the best option. That oil filter can be run for 2 5000-mile OCI's, meaning change your oil put this oil filter on, drain your oil at 5000 miles and at the next OCI, go and change the Oil Filter. The only other option is that NAPA Synthetic Oil Filter, but the Micron Rating is not as good as Amsoil's oil filter.

We have a choice here, use a more efficient oil filter that will maybe tear or leak, or just use a cheaper Oil Filter that will not tear or leak.
I am going with the Oil Filter that does not tear or leak since I feel this Micron thing means nothing if there is a tear or leak.

What's a "napa synthetic oil filter"? I am genuinely wondering if you're trying to troll this thread at this point given this post.

Yeah, you’re welcome to your opinion, but I disagree with most all of it.

And yes, it’s just common since they don’t make their own oil filters. But the oil filters they sell are no better than a Fram.

These so-called non-issues? It’s a leak that is created by poor manufacturing. It is essentially a quarter inch hole of unfiltered oil running straight through the filter, bypassing the media.

You can’t try to blow smoke up my backside get me to believe that that’s a non-issue.

I am not a fan of rehashing painful issues for amsoil with respect to oil filter QC, but I’ve experienced this personally as have others who posted on this thread.

Yeah, I got two where the louvers were mostly closed, they sent me replacements with better louvers, but still nowhere near as good as the Fleetguard filters I also have on hand.

The Carquest Premium is 99.5%@20 microns. The Amsoil is 99.9%@20 microns with no leaks. Who knows what it is with the leak but estimated around 85%@20 microns. Not worth $16. I’ll take the CQP at $9 any day of the week. The new Carquest EP is 99.5%@25 microns and is rated for 20k miles for $16 if you want to extend beyond 10k.

Truth. Avoid until Amsoil gets a new contract
It needs to be Fleetguard or Donaldson, people that have a history of manufacturing the calibre of filters the sticker AMSOIL puts on them commands.

A Nanonet EaO would be the cat's ass, arguably the most advanced synthetic media on the market. It is exactly the type of product that people expect when they see AMSOIL's name on it.

I emailed Amsoil all of my pictures of the leaking leaf spring back in October. After some back and forth I eventually made progress. Amsoil is a top notch independent company!(Fram and Champ Labs never responded). Let’s see where all the pieces fall after the First Brands bankruptcy.

I’m glad you all are getting traction. They were polite with me, but I never got past the front line csr.
