I need a single pole momentary micro-switch (ideally around 1/2" long), something like this, for my top-secret project:

The switches that I find cost around $5 to $6 a piece (at McMaster-Carr), which seems high. I need something durable. I don't mind buying 25 of them or more (within reason). Any suggestions regarding a source?

They have two small switches that cost 40 cents each, but they don't state exact dimensions. Those switches may be too big.

It doesn't have to be a panel-mounted switch. Even a PC mount miniature switch might work.

I could tell you a ton of places in my part of Canada to find them for next to nothing... But I don't know anywhere in the US that I could recommend. Oh Well...

Buy'em and ship them to Mori!

BUT the shipping costs will override the savings if he'd just go out and get them.

I know, Mori, just skip lunch for a day or two and with the money you save, that will pay for the difference in cost! Settled.

You mean to *start* rebuilding them... They're still strewn throughout my basement, and they're still a source of contention w/ the Mrs.!

I wholeheartedly recommend DigiKey, too, though... I have ordered $8 worth of parts (they're in Minnesota and Winnipeg, MB) and had them show up the next day. Customer service is excellent, and their catalog and ordering process is extensive and intuitive.

If Mouser or Digikey doesn't have what you need, then it's off to Surplus Land...

Get a Mouser printed catalog for future reference. Sometimes much easier to thumb through that than it is searching with their website.

Yeah, looking through those monster online catalogs is a herculean task. I still haven't found the perfect switch.

Found a suitable momentary lever switch at some surplus type online store. 50 cents a piece, how bad could it be? It's still a little big, but I'll shoehorn it in.
