Don't worry ... your summers will make up for it.

I moved down south a few years ago and have been spoiled.

Austin Texas gets down to below freezing a few times a year.

We run the furnace maybe 4 weeks out of the year. The AC gets run about 7-8 months out of the year.

I went to Orlando this past February, and the Florida Gulf Coast. It was 40-50 degrees most of the time I was there. The year before I went to Key West and it was the coolest temps on record, with blowing winds off the water. We froze.

Move your business to a Income tax free state down south and you will wish you would have done it sooner.

My qualify of life is much higher, my wife and I walk and travel quite a bit all over Texas during the winter and it is nice.

This Christmas we will be in a Condo on Corpus Christi Island overlooking the Gulf.

What's the coldest it will ever get in a place like Brownsville (the Tejas one)?

Not sure of the coldest on record, however freezing or just below is not unusual when a lot of cold, dense air rolls down from Canada. They lose a lot of citrus when that happens.
