Hello,
I'm interested in purchasing a dashcam. Could you please tell me which camera is better, the Vantrue N4 or the DDPAI Z40? Which one has a better parking mode?

I'm not sure, but I read somewhere that the N4 consumes quite a bit of power in parking mode. Is there any truth to this?

I would appreciate your help.
Thank you.

While I don't have your specific models, I have both a Rexing V3 and a Vantrue N2x. Both seem to do a fine job in parking mode. Both use power and will deplete my F150's rather large battery in about a week.

I have an N4pro, had an N2pro before it - never had an issue.

It has different parking modes, the default is motion triggered so if indeed you leave it parked on a busy street it might get through your battery in a couple of weeks, but this can be disabled. At my house I've been leaving it in the default parking mode for years without issues whatsoever.

One way or the other, if you plan on using parking mode you can get a $20 voltage cutout module or whatever its name was that will cut power to the cam if battery voltage goes beyond a specified threshold.

I think BlackVue used to sell one.
