Was browsing in my local Rural King store, which carries Mystik (branch of Citgo) lubricants. Saw a 15W50 CI-4 semi-syn oil on the shelf there. Looks like more a HD lube than a mixed fleet oil because it doesn't have any gas engine qualifications, but many diesel standards are listed. Looks good on paper and the price (at least at Rural King... $12.99...) was good if it suits your needs. Link to the data sheet below. Not recommending it, just found it an interesting viscosity and it looks to be a good oil on paper for the money. I looked at their 10W30 CJ-4 HEDO some time back and it's a similar formulation. May try Mystik oils at some point because they seem a good value.

Mystik 15W50

Mystik is the best kept secret. They dont have the high advertising as the other oil companies or the catchy offers, Mystik makes a rocking lubricant. They are produced by Citgo and make alot of popular oils for other labels such as Yamalube and Quicksilver. I used to be into trucking, I am not anymore, but I still get the trucking magazines and seen in the last one, a new diesel spec'd oil in 5w30 fro fuel economy. I guess its the trucking worlds version of 0w20 for cars.

15w40 is the weight spec'd for about every diesel. They are for mixed fleets. I can tell you when we had a truck garage in Pennsylvania and bought 15w40 by the drum. It got used in all the trucks, cars, atvs motorcycles and anything that took motor oil without incident or problems. Winter and summer and it does go below 0 in PA.
