Anyone know where can I find AC Delco filter locally? It is for a 97 Civic. I used the parts retailer locator on the AC Delco website and they only listed 2 wholesalers in my area. Thanks for your help.

I have a limited choice of places to buy oil filters. The only one locally that stocks AC's is Advance Auto. I think K-Mart did at least recently.

Thanks for your response, Labman. My local Autozone and Pepboys only stock battery, plug and oil filter. Do you think I can order the air filter through my local GM dealers?

The AC Delco web site locator thingy told me that Delco filters can't be purchased in western Washington. In actuality, I can buy them at local Autozones. I see that your Autozones don't carry them, but don't let that stop you. Ignore the locator thing, its bogus!

Park your car where the parts man can't see it. Just give him the number, don't mention it is for a Honda. Better yet, cross to a GM application and give him that. Try to convince him you are up to installing it yourself.

Yellow Pages: Automobile Parts: New

start at the first listing and call until you find what you want. Or be different, start with the last listing....

or am I missing something here?

Really funny... I kindly request "A735C the air filter" but he asks for which car... I tell him... asks motor codes, after a few more hassles he finds it on the lists then gives me the A735C

From what I've told AC-Delco has plans to open their own parts stores. Supposedly there is one or two in CA. They basically told everyone who carried their parts they would have to drop other brands to carry them so they all stopped carrying AC delco parts. Some store have a few parts like filters and spark plugs, but they buy them though a third party so the price is much higher. The only place to buy AC-Delco parts in most areas is the dealer or an online place like rockauto.com(which is what I do).

I'm not sure what happened to their plans of opening an AC-delco store, but I haven't seen one yet.

I tell them something like, it's not in your book, it's a 1953 Messerscmidt-Vortex, or a T-72 tank. They usually aren't dense enough to try and find it in their book, but some look.

If you have a few days to wait, www.rockauto.com carries AC Delco. I've gotten good service and good prices form them on lots of brand name car parts.
