Correct. They recommend every other so I'll be following that guideline.

Figured I'd try it for my new-to-me 8 Passat wagon. It's got 103k on it and has some oil weeping from the oil pan so figured this may help. Anyone else have positive results with this additive?

Anything that "thickens" oil is not something I would want in the sump during the winter months.

Disagree, if the end user is already using a synthetic oil this shouldn't be too much of a push; running out of oil is much more a concern. Lastly, if he commutes in a non severe environment or at least gets it running up to temperature plus 20+ minutes the difference will be minimal i would expect
