Liqui Moly Molygen 0w-20 or Castrol GTX Full Synthetic 0w-20 Cost doesn't matter

The Amsoil is a superior oil vs. Molygen hence the price difference.
No argument here. Amsoil products are one of the top. More oil than I need. Far as that goes, I could just go buy ST and be done with it. What fun would that be?

Pretty simple really. Everyone defers to API licensed oils, Amsoil compares to their own licensed oils.
No, they didn't. Amsoil's marketing spiel for their 0w20 oil (posted by Glenda) references two tests which tested their 5w30 oil and not their 0w20 oil. As I posted, they're conflating test results and marketing spiel to trick gullible people and Amsoil shills.

Which one of these two will protect my 2025 Toyota non-hybrid 2.5L A25A-FKS Engine better, cost aside. OCI every 6 months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. Ninety percent short trip city driving, 20 to 40 mph. And yes, I know Castrol makes three higher grades of full synthetic oils. The Liqiu Moly is a pretty bright green though, which makes no difference. Your opinions and thoughts are welcome, but I'd like to choose between these two and I would appreciate BITOG input. Thanks
In this use case Molygen. It's perfect for the shorter OCI and has it's friction improvers. But if you don't care about cost then I'd do Red Line above all.

Yeah, Flying Texan, I do care about cost, but I just didn't wany everyone to say Castrol because it is cheaper. Red Line, Amsoil and the like are too rich for my blood.

Not uncommon in the industry and not exclusive to Amsoil.

There is a big difference between what your engine needs for your given OCI plan, versus what you want to use.
At least you seem to recognize that.

You first indicate that cost isn't a real issue (thread title), but then state this " ... I am too tight to give the money for those high-end products ..."
So, cost doesn't matter, until it does.

While you're at it, why not ask about using a thicker lube, also? If something is good, then increasing that characteristic is always more better, right?
Surely a nice 5w-40 would be "best"?

That way you'll hit the BITOG topic trifecta; over-maintaining, money, and more thickness, all in one thread.

;)

The printing is pretty clear. I mean if Amsoil was trying to fool people they would not have used the ASTM #'s or written any further details. Do you get so upset about all the TV ads for motor oil claims?

You have been bit hard by marketing hype.

I like your idea of supertech. It will do fine for 5k changes.
