I imagine the oil itself must be what is supposed to help? Obviously not much in it at all. Would hate to think this is just rebottled lucas since it seems to have just as much detergent in it.
Can’t say “obviously not much in it at all” because there are plenty of things in an oil that won’t show up on a $30 used oil analysis, it’s been covered several times. You could say “either it’s got some great stuff that doesn’t show up, or else it’s just snake oil” and be accurate 😂

Yeah this company I won't give them the snake oil championship belt. I guess my question is in all sincerity is there a possibility that there could be something in there that's not showing on a basic analysis? And if so what could or would that possibly be?

You’d have to ask someone deeper into oil formulations, like MolaKule or David @High Performance Lubricants… they’d likely know what additives are probable but it’d still only be an educated guess.

Yeah I had used redline oil for the first 60 or 70,000 miles in this car. Seems that the 0-30 runs the best.
Sometimes people get lifter ticker and injectors confused. Many times it's the other. I believe it still has some use and customer support was very informative to explain that while Engine Flush works that going this route will be slower but do the exact same thing. Redline is thicker than most and the ester will clean and attach. No oil really runs quiet in a GDI 🤒

Tried this probably 5 or 6 years ago for a lifter tick in my Mazda truck. Didn't make any difference and now I see why. Cure was replacing all 12 of the hydraulic lash adjusters.

Not much to show on the VOA I guess, but I've had great success with this over the years; particularly in Mitsubishi and VW engines for some reason.

Sorry to revive this old thread and feel free to delete my response and leave a warning if it's in violation of any rules.

I enquired LM about this product asking whether it is just an oil thickener/stabilizer, or if it has indeed any cleaning ability, and this is the response i got:

Hello ****, thank you for contacting LIQUI MOLY technical support.

All LIQUI MOLY products are designed and produced using state-of-the-art additive packages utilizing extremely effective ingredients. The product development is done in-house after which each product goes through extensive testing for us to be able to guarantee maximum effectiveness and to substantiate compatibility with all materials present in engines, transmissions, fuel systems etc.

This means that a huge amount of time and money is invested into each product to make sure it can provide maximal functionality. Based on this we hope you can understand that we cannot share any proprietary information that may reveal in part or whole a products formulation.

Anyway, according to the REACH Regulation, only substances that are classified as hazardous substances relevant or environmentally hazardous above certain limit values must be listed in the SDB. Hydraulic Lifter Additive is based on special carrier oil and special ashless active ingredient polymers. These are classified as non-hazardous substances and therefore do not appear in the SDB. The additive therefore has a cleaning effect that behaves chemically differently than classical solvents but can be explained by surfactant molecules. Examples include, for example. B. functionalized VI improvers or calcium sulfonates, etc.

We would also like to point out that a lot of posts in internet forums are not checked for accuracy and sometimes reflect a lot of half-knowledge. Therefore, contacting the manufacturer, as you have done, allows such topics to be clarified directly and professionally.

We hope this information proves helpful. If you require any further clarification or have additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards

Just more food for thought.
I hope some experts could chime in and atest the validity of some of these statements.
