made an appointment to get my bed sprayed tomorrow at the local ford dealer, only place around that does rhino line. but after readings reviews of rhino online, im having mixed thoughts. some say rhino line is [censored], that line x is superior. they quoted me $500 for rhino. what should i get guys, would hate to get rhino then regret it. my truck is an '06 that just turned 70k, i figured its time to quit putting it off.

14 years ago I had the bed on my new truck sprayed with Line-X. I've hauled thousands of pounds of rock, crushed concrete, tools, lawnmowers, pretty much everything during that time. With the exception of a little bit of fading, not much at all, it's still as good as new.
I've seen Rhino and it just seems softer.

I have Line-X as well. Done on my 2004 in 04 by original owner. Still looking good and functioning as designed. If I had a new truck I would go with them based upon my experience with this truck.

My rhino is 11 years old. It's faded and the thin spots have worn in some areas. The bed is still holding up.

I had Line-X done to a 1998 K1500, short box I had back in 1999 (to 2002). I managed to gouge a spot out of the tailgate, but they re-sprayed it free. I had it done over the top of the side rails as well. IIRC, the whole job was ~$400 back then.

I'm not happy with the Line X that came on my truck. It's faded and scratched and a couple areas the size of a quarter have come off. It does not seem to hold up well under simple wood pallets. The "lifetime" warranty applies only to the original purchaser and only if he still has the receipt.

Like some who have already posted I've had trucks with both liners. The original Rhino has a rubbery, softer finish than Line-x. I had a truck with the original Rhino and while it never came off or caused any problem it never seemed anywhere near as durable as the Linex liners. However, Rhino has a newer type of liner called Hardline and it is very comparable to Linex. Yeah I know the specs on Linex are stronger, but in real world situations they have been very comparable to me. I have the Rhino hardline in my current truck. The key to any liner is the quality of the installer. Two equal products can turn out completely different if installed by a pro or a beginner. Some basic info to consider:

I have rhino extreme in the bed and wheel wells of my truck. I am extermely happy with it and it is holding up great so far. I am not sure how rhino extreme differs from rhino hardline but If you can find someone who does rhino extreme in your area, Go for it!

After looking at the line-x job on my neighbor's truck, THAT'S what I want. The stuff is awesome.
My truck came with Line-X. I have the lifetime warranty thing, which is useless, as it only applied to the original purchaser. Bummer. It has a bit of fade, but I don't care; somehow tree sap got onto it, and after it dried out I wirebrushed it; didn't phase the liner. I put a tonno cover of the bed of mine to keep snow and rain (mostly) out. Shouldn't fade now. I do like the traction my shoes get on the surface. Overall happy with it.
