I was going to stop by there a couple days ago. Looks like everyone else had the same idea. The line to get in was all the way across the parking lot. Probably 200 people waiting to get in.

Place was always empty when I went before the closing.

Are the lines the same at other stores?

no

Today I waited at least 15 minutes in line to pickup an online order, and it wasn’t for lack of staff. There were 3 cashiers helping people.

I was across the street, so I stopped by the local store, only to be greeted by a locked door, but with people obviously inside.

Was puzzled, since there was no sign about limiting customers inside, only holiday hours, which indicated they should be "open."

Didn't need to spend any more time than already wasted on the attempt.

Ironically, the AAP took over a Pep Boys location. PB was hardly perfect, but it still operated at a level well above my experiences with AAP.

I don't know if its a local thing, but the line at Advanced Auto Parts stores are the WORST. There is always a guy at the front arguing in Spanish about some part he just bought that doesn't work, or something or the other which takes 20 mins to resolve, while I wait there with my single brake light bulb in my hand wishing I could give them my $4 and get out the store

I usually give up and get it on Amazon

The OP's post reminds me of the Christmas clearance aisle at WalMart a few days ago. I was walking past the area and saw all the stuff that they couldn't sell before Christmas, but now everybody's gotta have it. Perhaps my mind has a warped sense of humor, but this area was way back in the garden section and they had made it into a "dead end". In other words, everything was stuffed into a small two-sided aisle and the entrance was the same as the exit. The funny part was some lady in an electric cart had gotten all the way in, couldn't make a U-turn and it was so crowded that nobody was really wanting to let her back her cart out.
Humor and sympathy all rolled up in one viewing. :sneaky:

They are getting what they deserve for screwing people over for so long

The AAP closest to us had someone crash through the front of the store. Needed brakes I suppose. They went out of business shortly after and now it’s a car wash. Lol

I’ve probably shared the story a million times, but I was working on my brothers truck and had an online order. Went to pick it up and they had sold it to someone else with the core sitting there. If that is the way they treated people, no wonder they are going the way of the dodo. Also, the 40% off $100+ promo codes they had for the longest time were supposedly better than their employee discounts. In comparison, Oreilly’s is 10% above store cost.

The buzzards are coming to pick at the bones.
