I was just wondering what one can expect lifespan wise from a Mann TDI oil filter in a well maintained car? I am thinking of running my OCIs out past 10K with used oil analysis...These filters cost almost as much as the 5w-40. Will they run 20K? There is a lot of surface area there and they appear well constructed.

Are you doing used oil analysis now?

If not, do it in steps. Do UOA at a normal change interval, then move up at 1,000 mile intervals to your goal of 10,000.

Make sure your oil can go that far as well as your filter based on your engine and your driving style.

We are running 10K intervals now on Delvac1 and Mann filters. That is the recommended interval in the manual. Car sees very little stop and go or short trip driving. Shortest trip it usually sees is 20 miles one way to wife's workplace.

I have seen some say that this filter will way outdo the 10K service interval which is why I was interested in using it for two intervals and just swap oil since they run about 12 bucks locally. I know I can get them online a tick cheaper but haven't gone that route yet. The filters always look immaculate after a 10K change.
