Life in the rust belt.

Living in Western PA, I go HEAVY on the Fluid Film. I generally try to avoid driving my 2015 F150 in the winter if I can help it, but it still does get driven sometimes. The underside of it still looks really good for an 11 year old truck in the rust belt. Much better than some other trucks of the same age I’ve seen.

I started coating our 2015 Outback a few years ago. It’s held up well without any help, but supposedly the front subframes are susceptible to rotting out.

It’s a constant battle. Spent all winter washing salt off and Fluid Filming, spend summers doing body work to fix rust.

After I graduate from college I’d definitely consider moving somewhere warmer where the roads aren’t salted. The older I get the more and more I realize winter just isn’t for me, especially as a car guy. I get jealous when my uncle visits from Florida and I see the underside of his 10 year old Tundra and it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

My above LX 470 was purchased in Phoenix 5 years ago

To my knowledge it’s never been in snow/salt conditions

Leads a pampered life here in Utah now…220K miles
